Edmonton Oilers Continue Hot Start to Season

ANAHEIM, Calif. - Connor McDavid and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins each recorded a goal and an assist as the Edmonton Oilers cruised to a 6-3 road victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night.

Warren Foegele had a career night with five points (two goals, three assists) to lead the Oilers' offensive outburst. Zach Hyman and Tyson Barrie also scored for Edmonton, which has now won three of its first four games this season.

Trevor Zegras, Troy Terry, and Max Comtois scored for the Ducks, who fell to 1-3-0 on the young campaign.

McDavid opened the scoring at 4:21 of the first period with a power-play goal, assisted by Nugent-Hopkins. The Ducks responded with two goals from Zegras and Terry to take a 2-1 lead, but the Oilers tied it up before the end of the period on a goal by Hyman.

McDavid assisted on Nugent-Hopkins' goal early in the second period, and the Oilers never looked back. Foegele scored his first goal of the night later in the period to give Edmonton a 4-2 lead. Foegele added another goal in the third period, and Barrie sealed the victory with an empty-netter.

Jack Campbell made 26 saves for the Oilers, while John Gibson stopped 35 shots for the Ducks.
