Faith Annette Redkey Was Arrested at Her Residence

According to the Grant County Sheriff's Office, Redkey was arrested at her residence in Okeechobee and charged with one count of child neglect without great bodily harm.

Deputies responded to a disturbance call at a residence on 98th Street in Okeechobee on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.

Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the caller, who advised that her next door neighbor, later identified as Redkey, had left her 2-year-old child unattended in a vehicle for approximately 20 minutes.

Redkey Admitted to Leaving Her Child Unattended

Deputies interviewed Redkey and she admitted to leaving her child unattended in the vehicle while she went inside her residence to use the restroom.

The child was not injured, and there were no signs of neglect other than being left unattended in the vehicle.

Redkey was arrested and transported to the Grant County Jail, where she was booked and released on a $2,500 bond.
